The presentation and survey held in September helped define which mosaics will decorate the entrances of SOFTacademy buildings in the future. The hackathon’s winning project, “Mosaic,” created by architecture students, stood out for its artistic value, innovative spatial approach, and strong connection to the surrounding environment.

The winning team brought a new sense of identity to the courtyards through the entrance mosaics, uniting the buildings and outdoor spaces into a cohesive whole and giving the area a distinctive character. According to the jury, the project was distinguished by its clear focus and depth – “Mosaic” explored one idea thoroughly and meaningfully.

The project also highlighted new possibilities for using materials, such as combining concrete tiles, tinted asphalt, and natural stones. One of the most notable designs depicts a parcel robot, symbolizing innovation that started in Mustamäe and has since reached the world.

Community feedback played an important role in shaping the outcome. For Akadeemia tee 22, residents’ suggestions inspired the creation of an entirely new mosaic.
